Daniela Haufe (Cyan) Daniela Haufe, born 1966 in Berlin (Germany), was trained as a manual typesetter and worked as a typographer at a state publishing house. 1988 she started studying graphic design at a university of applied sciences in Berlin. She was strongly engaged in the civil movement for more democracy. After the wall came down she cancelled her studies and joined the group «grappa». In 1992 Daniela Haufe and Detlef Fiedler left «grappa» to found «cyan». Together with one to four other designers they create graphic design and corporate identity programs exclusively for cultural clients such as the Bauhaus Dessau, the State Opera Berlin, the House of World Cultures and various galleries. From 1991 to 1995 they where coeditors of the design critical magazine «form+zweck» (form+purpose). As members of the dance company «toula limnaios» they created several films and videos that were projected on stage. From 1996 to 2006 they taught as professors of graphic design at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig. In 2001 Haufe and Fiedler became members of the Alliance Graphique International (AGI). Werner Jeker Werner Jeker (1944) received numerous national and international awards, including an Award for “Exeptional Use of Photography in Graphic Design” from the International Center of Photography in New York in 1988, the First Prize for a new series of “Swiss Bank Notes” in 1989 and the “Grand Prize of Applied Arts” in 1991, awarded by the Vaudoise Foundation for artistic promotion and creation. Furthermore, a great number of his posters have been awarded at the Warsaw, Lathi and Toyama poster exhibitions. His posters are in public collections worldwide. Werner Jeker is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). He has implemented various corporate designs like “Weimar '99” (European cultural city 1999, art director for communications); Foundation Schloss Neuhardenberg, Berlin (2001); Institut national du partimoine (INP), Paris (2002); City of Geneva (2004) and since 1984 he is responsible for the corporate design of “Théâtre de Vidy”, Lausanne. He developed and implemented concept, architecture and scenography of the pavilion SignalPAIN at the Swiss National Exhibition EXPO.02 (1998-2002). In 1984 he co-founded the graphic and industrial design studio “Les Ateliers du Nord” with Antoine Cahen and Claude Frossard. He regularly collaborates with various major, social, cultural and commercial institutions such as the “Swiss Foundation for Photography”, the “Cinémathèque Suisse”, various museums in Lausanne, the “Collection de l'Art Brut”, the “Musée de l'Elysée” and the “Musée des Arts décoratifs”. In Paris he worked for the “FNAC Galeries Photo”, the “Cité de la Musique”, the “Magnum photo agency” and in London for “Phaidon Press”. Since 1965 he has been living and working in the Lausanne area. He set up his own studio in Lausanne in 1972, while teaching at the Lausanne School of Art and Design, where from 1974 to 1986 he was head of the graphics department. He teached 1995-97 as professor in the State College for Design, Karlsruhe/Germany and 1997-98 as visiting docent in the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ENSAD), Paris/France. Wang Xu Wang Xu graduated from the Design Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1979. He came to Hong Kong in 1986 and had been working as a graphic designer until 1995 when he went back to Guangzhou and founded the WX–design. Wang is member of the New York Art Directors Club and Alliance Graphique Internationale. He is professor of Hunan University, design director of Guangdong Museum of Art. Wang Xu has received more than 100 international design awards, including Icograda Excellence Award in the 17th International Biennale of Graphic Design Brno, winning the Silver Medal twice in the New York Art Directors Club Annual Awards, the Golden Bee Awards twice in the International Biennale of Graphic Design Moscow, and the Special Recognition Prize in the Shaw Prize International Design Competition. He has also judged at international competitions such as the 80th and 84th ADC Annual Awards, International Biennale of Graphic Design Brno, International Competition Poster and Graphic Arts Festival of Chaumont, Tokyo TDC Awards 2005. In 2000 he was invited to be the Visual Committee member of Beijing’s Bid for the 2008 Olympics and jury member of the Logo Competition for Beijing’ Bid for the 2008 Olympics. He has given lectures and speeches on many occasions.
